About Miftaah

Miftaah is a set of open-source, frequently-used applications that deal with regular tasks such as word editing, worksheets, presentations, communication, and multimedia. Most applications have been arabized, and are presented in three languages (Arabic/ English/ French) in a customized interface.

Miftaah is ready to be used directly from a USB key: the user has nothing to install and the use of the software is safe and does not leave any personal information on the host computer where Miftaah has been used. It provides mobility and the convenience of carrying the “personal desktop and files” for use on any PC.

Under the supervision of UNESCO Office in Rabat and ICTDAR, Miftaah is implemented by various partner universities in the Region: Algerian of the Research center on Scientific and Technical Information (CERIST), Moroccan Mohammadia School of Engineers, University Mohammed V Adel and Birzeit University in Palestine.
